The ARCHITECTURAL CONNECTION™ Black & White Silk Pocket Square is a sophisticated piece of architectural-inspired wearable art by Chicago-based artist and fashion designer Alesia Chaika.
Originally created in 2013, the artwork was inspired by the magnificent coffered ceiling of Stanley Field Hall at Chicago’s Field Museum. Alesia was captivated by its repeating square geometry, architectural symmetry, depth, and timeless neoclassical beauty.
A coffered ceiling is an architectural feature composed of a structured grid of recessed panels—often square or rectangular—that creates a striking sense of dimension, rhythm, balance, and visual harmony. Alesia reinterpreted these architectural elements through her own artistic perspective, transforming the monumental geometry of the museum ceiling into a refined contemporary pattern.
Rendered in timeless navy blue and luminous white, the composition emphasizes the relationship between architecture, geometry, light, and space.
